  1. Clean, large variety of fish, and healthy plants. Sadly the majority of fish stores in my area are known of the above. And that includes box chains. I do however have one private owned LFS and one Petco that are nice. Both are a drive but I will always make the trip for their selection and cleanliness!

  2. After looking up images on google, I definitely think that could be what it is. I’m reading that it should be immersed in substrate. But I’ve also read it could be attached to driftwood. 🤦🏼‍♀️ Do you think it will survive/thrive on the driftwood it came with?

Since my first dream product turned out to already exist (thanks everyone!) here is another:

An auto-dosing pump for planted aquariums that first measures for various fertilizer concentrations in the aquarium and then auto-doses the correct missing ferts. So I would probably just set up with Easy Green and Iron but for someone doing Estimative Index (EI) Fertilization Method it could be more options. Maybe throw in an auto-water change if the concentrations get too high for EI as long as I am fantasizing.

    This right here!!!!

  4. Today I went to my LFS to pick up some Otos to help with the algae in this tank . While there, this plant caught my eye. It is attached to the piece of driftwood underneath it. It was the only in the tank and the girl at the store didn’t know what kind of plant it was. At first I was thinking maybe a Buce? After getting it home and checking it out, it appears it isn’t glued on. Rather there is a whole in the wood that has the plant tucked in along with some white filter fiber. Can anyone help me out so I know how to take care of it? Should it been planted into the substrate or is it fine on the driftwood? Also the green is very pale compared to my other plants. Is this normal for this type of plant or does it look like it has some type of deficiency?

  5. I’ve always been a big fan of aqua clear. My first one lasted forever. However I will warn, I’ve noticed the quality go down hill the past few years personally. I’m not sure if it’s been bad luck or an actual quality control issue. I run sponge filters in all my aquariums now, with the exception of my display tank in my living room. That is still running an aqua clear 50 and I have no plans of doing away with it. But I do plan on adding a sponge filter additionally to that one as well:)

I have three nano tanks (two 10 gals, one 12 gal). One 10 gal houses mainly guppies, the other houses mainly ember tetras. The 12 gal houses a mix of green neons, honey gouramis, and dwarf chain loaches.

I used both petrified wood (stone) and mopani driftwood in the 12 gal. I also used mopani in the other tanks along with some seiryu stone, which is mostly used to prop up the wood and create retaining walls. I'm more of a wood person than stone.

As for plants, I have various anubias, buce, crypts, and java fern in every tank (the basics) and I've also had good luck with rotala indica.

I don't use c02 and I have medium strength LED lights.

One super-easy plant that's outstanding for adding pinky-orange tones without c02 or high lights is dwarf aquarium lily. They're also in all my tanks.

    Good luck with your nano!

Beautiful tanks! What kind of plant is the bright green one in the front, off to the left in your first pic?
