  1. Hi, I am getting into CO2. I will be using it on a 20gal high, and I do not know what CO2 diffuser to use. I have done some research online but there is so many options IDK which one to pick. I will use a 10 lb CO2 tank a aquatec basic CO2 regulator.

    Thank you

  2. For plants i would go on to buceplant (the prices are a little high because of inflation) and in the search bar on the website i would turn on the filter and select care level easy. I have never owned a GBR, beautiful fish though. If you go to liveaquaria on line you can click GBR and if you scroll down a little on the species you can find some info. On liveaquaria it tells you the fishes temperament and GBR is a peaceful temperament so i recommend corys, kuhlii loaches, pleco. For hard scape I recommend just looking around your LFS and look for rocks and sticks that look enteresting.

  3. Yeah the white stuff is for sure a bad sign um i don't know. But you could try frits maracryn. Was/is he scratching on rocks or sticks, asign of ick.frits maracryn is sold on the coop

My SAE have absolutely destroyed plants when there is not enough algae. Java Fern, Java fern Windelov, dwarf lily, red flame sword, and red melon sword are some of their favorites. I’ve even had them go after anubias before.

I supplement their diets with zucchini’s and extreme bottom wafers. They eat both easily, the bigger issue I have is balancing it so they don’t stop eating the algae all together.

Well based on the picture that looks like Java fern to me, what kinds of algae eaters do you have in there?

    Java fern or ama sword

  5.  So I had a 10 g tank (a little overstocked) and it had lots of live plants nothing fancy, no Co2 or anything like that ran on a aqueon quiet flow 10. The tank was doing pretty well, but the maintenance was a 30% water change every week. Now that doesn't seem like a lot of work but the closest sink was like 35-50 feet away and I also had a 70 g tank running. I decided that the planted 10 g was 2 much work so i got rid of all the plants and then had corys breed so then i had 2 10 g tanks running simultaneously. The 70 g tank was two much work so i got rid of it. Then most of the babies died ☹️. Then I shut down the 10 g tanks and just got a 20 g planted tank. Well my darn corys are the reason for half of the tank not working, they knocked all of the plants every where and a lot of them died 😤. Then I bought a python maintenance tool but the prob with that is that it takes forever to drain the tank This is currently the setup I have now w/ tidal 35 filter(works great). But my friend has a 10 g tank w/ a daino and a guppy. And she never has any probs w/ the fish getting sick. I was watching some people (cory has a video of a guy in San Francisco who does it) who do not do water changes,so that led me to wonder maybe there is a way to find perfect balance in a aquarium w/ no water changes. Well if there is or you found a way let me know please!

  6. I have a 2O g tank with like 28-34 fish (a bit overstocked) and i do a small-big pinch of food and they are all happy and I currently have 2 Otto's I would try feeding less. I have seen my Otto's eat cory catfish pellets witch were made of shrimp. also if your tank has like the brownish algae on the inner walls of the tank let them eat it well you probably know th(at)is already but they only like certain kinds of algae and mostly on flat surfaces. I don't even feed my ottos because of the algae that is in the tank. Are the otto('s) getting bigger and bigger? The other thing that i would consider doing is to skip a feeding or two and see if they are still big. Also you only need to feed your fish once a day and it is even OK to skip a feeding every once and a while like once-twice a week. And i used to think that fat fish are healthy fish but auctly if your fish is getting over fed this is not good for them. Hope this helps.
