The tank is looking good. I try to go with dense planting in the back and sides for hiding spots, with open swimming area in the front center. I also try for at least one line of sight break to at least partially partition it into two swimming zones.
Sometimes the separation of the plants from the rockwool can be an exercise in patience. That is hard to do when you are feeling rushed. Hindsight is 20/20, but it might have been better to leave some of the plants in the planters and let them acclimate to the new tank, then remove them later. This would also let you keep experimenting with the scape with minimal disturbance to the plants. I say this, but I always plow through it instead of being patient.

OK guys i have updates with my rescape! first off things didn't go as planned i hurt myself while working on the tank pulled my groin muscle. there were many other obstacles i didn't anticipate. fist mistake i made was doing this mid work week. i worked a five hour shift the day of this adventure so was a little sore from that, i needed to finish this project rather quickly since i had to go to work the next morning. i was trying to hurry with the tank cleaning and tank water transfer to quickly and pulled my groin muscle right from the start i had 5 g buckets filled with slate rock and buckets filed with water and more buckets with plants and water. in my haste i grabbed one bucket of slate stone and a another with water in it and i felt a bolt of lightning from my groin area that didn't go away. happened with in the first two hours so that really limited my ability to move and work like i needed to. i did endure however! After i removed every thing from the tank except the fish i did i vacuum of my substrate. i then added 15 more pounds og fluorite black substrate then i put only one large piece of wood back in the tank and began replanting. my goal was to have all the tall stem plants in the very back of the tank and mid plants in the mid and short plants in the foreground. i did remove most of my Mayaca Fluviatilis it was taking over my tank. this plant was growing half a inch in a single day if not more! the reason i only put back one piece of wood and no rocks was i simply had to many plants the tank was over crowded with plants, wood, and rock. i have notice my tank is now much more open with swimming room for the fish, and they seem to love it, a lot of shoaling going on like never before. ok now some of the obstacles i Mintken'd the brazilin pennywort was damaged probably from shipping, the stocks were crimped almost broken you will see in the pics that out of the three pots i only have one stock with leaves all the others broke off. then the night mare the Monte Carlo witch is a very petite plant the roots were infused with the rockwool i could not separate the roots from the rockwool as you see in the pics i had 12 pots of Monte Carlo to began with and in the pics you see what i only got from those pots i lost about 7 pots worth of Monte Carlo pots. i do think that my lack of skill level did play apart to this. the roots did not bunch together instead were more like tiny tiny individual roots that was to small and fragile for me to separate from the rockwool. i just did the best i could! so after though, my tank is now more open less of a out of control jungle and i got to do what i love interacting with my water box of aquatic life. over all i didn't come close to what i was trying to accomplish but i am still happy because this is what i love to do. NOW THE PICS! the fist pic is just moments befor i sterted you can see most of the pots of new plants. the pics in between are of the penny wort breaking off and flouting in the water column. notice how little Monte Carlo is actually planted that was from 12 pots! the last pic is the finished tank.

Do you guys think it will be ok to have 3 male EBA'S with no females? i dont want them burrowing in the substrate and uprooting my plants.

hello fish keeping friends
so tomorrow i will get my 3rd and last shipment of plants. and will begin to teardown my tank. this is going to be a huge adventure for me. i would start a journal but not sure how to. and to be truthful my grammar is so bad that you all would see how uneducated i am so i am just posting as i do things. i am excited about this project. this will really be my fist aquascape. i will take a pic right before i start and a couple in-between and then the finish product. until tomorrow friends wish me luck.

CAN I HAVE ALL MALE Electric Blue Acara SAY 3? as for the mating fluid it is great but some times need to break up fish fights.

ARE YOU READY? MIGHT WANT TO TAKE A SEAT!!!! GOING TO GET 2 OR 3 Electric Blue Acara. what do you guys think my tank has mostly barbs cherry, rosy, tiger, green tiger , large red tail black shark and a large common pleco 6 loaches zebra and yoyo. how do you think they will all get along? i will start this in on minday the 21st of this month. Iwas like you and use a thermometer and buckets. to make sure the new water was the same temp. after wat5ch8ing coop vids primetime aquarium vids on WC learned to just us my hand as a temp indicator i never had a issue and i am always right there around 1-2 degrees. for how many degrees can the water change in a very small amount of time i have heard a few opinions i always stay between1-3degrees of water temp difference. hope that helps. heres a trick that works well with end of the hose submerged in the tank i put my fingers in from of the water flow from the hose if i feel a temp difference i adjust to it. i am usually spot on.

first off thank you all for the great tips! i am going to try the colander with food in it. if that doesnt work i will drain the tank saving 45 g to add back and remove my plants and net the fish. i am allso adding 30 more pounds of choride black su8bstrate and new plants like lily for cover anf forground plants. so yeah a total rescape all in one day. wish me luck!😬

yes i just Rember'd i did squeez two lg filter sponge in my tank right befor i did the water change

That amount is very small but keep an eye on it, if it doesn't go down in a mature cycled tank I would get a bigger filter or set it up differently. I have read you can see .25 even with a good mature filter but I have never seen that.
What do you have for a filter and how many fish?
Seeing zero nitrate I'm guessing a fairly new tank? Have you tried to cycle it? Is that what you are doing now?
All the other parameters look great.
i have two hang on the backs. one is the marineland penguin 400 pro the other is the seachem tidal 110 they are both hot-rodded per corys vid. in my 75g i have 5 cherry barbs 8 rosy barbs 4 green barbs 6 tiger barbs 7 rummy nose, 5 monk fish,3 yoyo loaches,2 zebra loaches, 1 common pleco 6 inches,1 redtail shark. lots and lots of plants. ohh i have a power head inside the tank moving water. tank has had fish in it for 8 months now. i have pothose growing out of my tank Aswell with high lighting.

thank you! there is actually more plants in the very back just to short at the moment. my plan is to have a row of two or three different kinds of stem plants that will reach to the top. not sure what to do about the line of sight. the rockwool incident as i like to call it, i tried with needle nose pliers but i just couldn't separate the tiny roots from the wool. i think there's plenty that got planted that it could still carpet over time.
thank you. my fish seem to like the extra room. i hope the pennywort does take off i really like the plant.
