So I just found a 4ft by 12 by 12 aquarium(30gallon) and I know geophagus tapajos minimum tank size is a 55, but I know that is mainly for the square feet on the bottom since they are bottom dwelling cichlids, so would a 4 ft 30 gallon be okay,

No odd behaviors or rapid breathing, they are acting 100% normal, they are fed very well from the algae growing on the rocks to blanched zucchini all the way to live baby brine,

I have 4 reticulated hillstream loaches in a 50 low boy stream biotope and I noticed last week that 2 of them have these discolored bumps on both their fins, it hasn’t gotten any worse or better l, or spread to the other 2, im just not really sure what it is exactly. Any ideas?
all my parameters are spot on so I know it has nothing to do with water quality or parameters

I’ve had this discus (darker one to the left) for about 5 months, I have 10 others and few few breeding pairs, and he is currently paired with an orange checkerboard…. But he is the only one I don’t know the morph/name of, does anyone have any idea, I was thinking he was a wild type, maybe a Brown Batata Discus but I honestly have no clue, any other ideas? It would be great for some other opinions

i do have a question though, I thought that colomesus asellus were ok either as a single or as a group of six+?

if you are looking for some more basic easy to find fish to stock, you can go with maybe black substrate and background with a medium plant volume, and for fish do a single powder blue gourami and 6 to 8 cherry barbs, and then maybe a nice color of rabbit or ramshorn snails for a cleanup crew, all those fish can be found at almost any chain store, but of course check your Lfs first!

try to see if you have a local FB group and post on there, or even call or stop into a big chain store(like PetSmart)... they usually have a tank for fry, they might just let you put yours in there! heck or even ask if the employees want them, most of them have tanks and don't mind free fish

the SA puffer is in a 40 breeder rn, i planned on getting a good size group to see what i can do with them, but im slowly falling in love with schoutedeni puffers,
-
yes I will be rehoming him soon unfortunately, i just wont be able to give him the prefect home he deserves as i think its right if I allow someone else too do so, I would have gotten quite a few more and housed them in the 75 but I plan on using that to breed the schoutedeni when i get 4 or 5 more... or at least attempting it
-
I think I've decided on what I will do, I'm moving my T.schoutedeni puffer to a 75 i have ready for him, instead of keeping the amazon puffer I have in that 40, I will keep him in the 29, he is still only around 2" so that tank will work for now just fine I think, then the pig nose can have his 40!
-
I'm seriously considering getting another 40 breeder for one, the only reason I'm even considering the 29 is because already have it setup and cycled, and my Lfs has one that is full grown, they have the poor thing in maybe 10 gallons of water and its been there for a while

Hi everyone! I have a spare 29 gallon tank that I would love to put a Pig nose puffer in, I have quite a few different freshwater puffer species, so I know I would be perfectly capable of keep one, my question is that I know a 40 breeder would be the perfect tank size for them, but would a 29 tall be adequate... I have seen many mixed suggestions online and just can make up my mind so I would love to get some other opinions

I have treated with prazi pro (praziquantel) 3 weeks ago, and after I figure this out I will do general cure.

He has been slowly getting more and more brown spots for almost 2 weeks, and has white spots that I Thought were ich, but I slowly turned the temp up to 86°F and for the fist week I was doing a 30% water change and dosing ich-x once every 12 hours, now it's every 24, and it has been getting a little better and then the next day it's a little worse, and it just keeps going up and down for the last 2 weeks, I have absolutely no idea what it is, again I don't think it's ich because it should of cleared up in like 5 days. Does anyone know what it can be, and how to treat it, I have loads of different meds.
My parameters are:
Ammonia- 0ppm
Nitrite-0ppm
Nitrate->5ppm
GH- 100ppm
KH-40ppm
PH- 7
Temp at 86°F, I normally keep it at 79°F
Edit: the only thing I can think of is that it's a REALLY bad case of ich and the "brown spots" are just bruises from him bubbing on some lava rock I have in there

Okay thankyou I wilk have to move them back to their other tank

I've had my amazon puffer for 3 weeks and he's been doing great, he shares a tank with 2 dwarf puffers, I've raised them with many different fish in the last 7 months so I thought it would be okay to keep them in their... I'm not sure if if the white circles on him are some sort of fungal/bacterial infection, or just puffer bites? Does anyone know or might be able to help. I've been doing E.M. Erythromycin and ich X for 4 days now with no improvements, I'm going to tank out the pea puffer and see if he improves this week
EDIT: my water parameters are ,
Ammonia- 0ppm
Nitrite-0ppm
Nitrate-5ppm
Ph-6.9
Kh-20ppm
Gh-100ppm
Temp-79°F
