I can’t even tell what the numbers are lol. Because the tests never change color. I’ll get some distilled and try that though. That’s not a bad idea

I thought it was super soft because my snails shells fall apart and when I tried to keep shrimp none of them could molt

Someone please help lol. I have the api master test kit and a gh and kh test. All liquid solutions. I’m trying to figure out what’s going on with my well water. Currently, out of the faucet my tests show ph- around 9, when I test gh, I put 2 drops in and it immediately goes green. Never shows orange. And for kh it only shows blue. I can put 30 drops in and it never changes to yellow. All the bottles say they still have 4 years before they expire. I don’t understand my results or if api is just junk?

I plan on starting a new 75g tank in the coming months and want other people’s opinions to make sure I’m not over stocking because I haven’t done a tank this big before. I plan on using much more filtration than is rated for 75g to keep a good bio filter, and it will be a fairly heavily planted tank.
I plan on 6 fancy goldfish, like ryukin or pearlscales, maybe a dozen shrimp, a few bamboo shrimp, and if bioload allows it maybe some mystery snails. Any opinions are welcome and appreciated

Ya I’m going to get some distilled and make sure the tests are right. As for the ph, I know it’s high and I adjust it. I’ve got ph pretty well set at around 7 in my tanks. It’s the gh and kh I’m still having trouble with. Thanks for the help
