[Can't get driftwood to sink]

Depending on the shape and size of the piece you may be able to wrap steel leaders, typically used for fishing, around the wood and then attach some split shot sinkers to the leader(s) until it decides to stay down. You can daisy chain leaders with ease and pick up lead sinkers of about any size.

We should entertain that the list of viable tank mates is quite limited, at least for tanks 29gal or smaller lol. While it is frequently posted that females are likely peaceful and tolerant, that may just be relative to typical-day male behavior. Our male harasses the females at random times throughout the day yet eats peacefully next to otos when scavenging tiny bits of algae wafer and lets them go about their business without hassle. We have attempted keeping corydora and rubbernose pleco with and quickly removed them from the environment due to the females acting as aggressors. 

We acquired three of our females from a LFS called "The Fish Tank" in Daytona, FL and drove them back to Louisville.  At a later date we ordered a male/2 female package from Wild Fish Tanks and all fish were in excellent condition upon arrival and continue to thrive.

[Florida Flagfish question]

We've not had luck keeping too many other fish with our Florida Flagfish but from what I've read that may just be due to the personalities of our fish. We've currently one male and five females in a planted 29 gallon, joined by five otos who they seem to have no interest in outside of the occasional investigation.

As far as keeping them with red cherry shrimp, I wouldn't recommend it. We had a short lived experiment that taught us that tank may be better utilized for culling disguised as snack time. 

They are wonderful when it comes to violently ridding a tank of hair algae. We run a light for ten hours on the [low tech] tank and keep a small, consistent platform of hair algae cultivated across the top of some java moss and they frequently graze throughout the day.

[Triple Crown Convention]

It sounds like the Coop will not have an official presence there but maybe we can form our own small contingent. Lets try and get a roll call of folks that are going. 

For anyone in the area or anyone considering going to a "fish convention" consider this one.
