  1. Any suggestions for starting a new fish room? As life has changed our dining room is never used and has a concrete floor. We want to do one wall of tanks. Currently have a 55, 40 breeder, 45 pentegon, and several 10s and 20s. Want to make it still used as a dining room as well so has to be pleasing to visitors.

You're the first person ive heard call celestial pearl danios galaxy rasboras in a very long time. Kudos! I would keep them together at around 76 degrees F if they were housed together.

They came into my lfs with this name and both the owner and I were supposed they came in with this name too.

  3. I was thinking today about how people talk about oxygen in tanks when they loose power. Here in New England it is common to loose power in the winter with snow storms. We had lost power a few years ago and we were worried about pipes bursting. What do people do in the winter with our fish tanks if we loose power? Are there battery powered heaters out there?

  4. My filtration is a hang on back filter with a cartridge which is the original to the tank. I have an airstone in the tank as well. My water comes out with 0s across the board but is town water so do treat with prime. I am currently feeding once a day eaither flakes or guppy pellets. Only feeding enought hat they eat in a minute.

  5. Good morning,

I have had a  10 gallon tank running with 6 fish( 3 endler guppies and 3 regular guppies) for a month and a half now. I have had the tank spike then level out then spike again. I have been doing water changes at least once a week and more depending on the testing results. when will the tank finally settle? should i keep doing water changes as many as 10 percent daily? some people have recommended to stop the water changes to even out. Right now ammonia is 4ppm nitrite is 20ppm nitrate is 20 ppm.

Yeah, she is learning that through the rescue farm. They take in lambs and calves that otherwise wouldn't survive (a majority still don't make it to adulthood), and rescue many abused/neglected animals that they rehabilitate. She never thought she could handle being a vet, but has learned how to handle loss better than she thought she would. That's the hard part of working with animals. here are many rough days, but so many rewarding days (like when one of their animals are adopted out to a loving family).

The goats and sheep sound fun!

I have my fair share of "Special Needs goats and sheep" I have a One eyed goat and a tri pod sheep. My old breeders live out there lives here. I lost one goat this fall that was 15.5 years old.

Welcome! I can't wait to see your aquarium with all your friends when you get it set up!

What kind of background do you have in farm animals? My daughter works at a rescue farm and I think has found her passion and thinks she wants to become a vet tech and work with farm animals.

I have Been breeding Nigerian Dwarf goats for 18 years and Finn sheep for two years. I went to school to be a vet tech but after a few years in the feild left for a job in the feed industry. Vet Tech can be a hard job Mentally
