I have a nano sponge filter and a heater and overgrown water lettuce, gravel, anubias nana, dwarf chain sword, and a hammock and feeding ring.

I don't have a siphone hose yet. How much are the fish in total?

Then your filtration should be enough. Dwarf habrosus cories (we don't have them here so this is a logical guess based on videos of the Co-Op) are usually around $4-5, and pygmy cories (in my area) are usually $3-4 a piece. Nerite snails will be around $2 and under.

Get a siphon hose it will help tremendously with aquarium maintenence.

Water sprite can also be a great alternative too, in the "TEENY TINY Ideas for Your Nano Aquarium" there was a really dense "forest" of pearl weed that looked really good. Hornwort is definitely one of my favourites too. It can get fairly "melty" when you first get it, although in the short time I've had it I haven't really noticed it. I also really like finding a mix of stem plants for the background since I get to play around with textures and colours.

I made a budget of 40 dollars and the rest of my money I am saving up. What would be good?

Sometimes Petco has online sales where if you spend $50 they will take 25% off for store pick up orders.

Some people resale their tank supplies on Craigslist and Offer up for cheap.

Our betta enjoys having plants and a little house as well as our Corydoras.   Looks like you have a good start of plants so far.
