FrostiesFishes
Hello I Was wondering if anyone is well versed enough to help me with these fish. They were sold to me as apistogramma agassizii tefe the seller seemed to think they might be tefe blue. It was sold as a w/c pair. https://youtube.com/shorts/c-kbRFohGuc Edited March 31, 2021 by FrostiesFishes

Jeremy_fishguy
Im in a forum on Apistogramma.com, I would definitely try there, they really help with identification. I had an apisto sold to me that was completely different to what it was IDd as. I dont know the next thing, however, so I cant help, but they look like really beautiful fish!!!!
Andy's Fish Den
I am by no means an expert on Apistogramma identification, but to me they look more like a cacatuoides. The agassizzi I have seen, the dorsal fin doesn't have the extended rays towards the front, it is straight down until it gets towards the back and then extends. Maybe see if you can get some better pictures of them settled into their tank, instead of in the specimen container. I just googled apistogramma agassizzi tefe blue and there are several good images and videos you can compare to.
FrostiesFishes
Yeah I agree with you Andy about it. And honestly they don’t get much different colors in a tank. They are very skidish.
