Storing a fish tank on its side

I have a friend getting rid of a 75 gallon glass aquarium (not typical dimensions). I have don’t have space for now but I will later. I have a storage room with space but will need to stand it in its side. Is that safe? Should I put it in 2x4’s or a rug?

I'm assuming it's a rimmed tank?  Do you mean on its end?  Yep.  I have a bunch in storage on their ends.  Just make sure the floor is clear of anything that may actually contact the glass panel.

Just make sure your neighbors cannot see that part of your yard.

Just don't store fish in it like that, unless the fish are on their side too.

@StreetwiseORD but LOL. Flounders also were the first fish prescribed by doctors as a diet for COVID patients.

Not because they had any special nutritional benefits, but because they were the only thing they could slide under the door without having to open it.

This is a really old post but I’m storing 23 new tanks in my garage up on the rafters. It gets pretty hot. Over sealed aqueons. I’m concerned about the silicone. They won’t be wet for probably 2 months. I have most of them all stood up also
