I've got a type of algae in my tank I've never seen before. I've been gone for about two weeks and had a friend just feeding the fish and came home to this anyone know what it is?

That, my friend, is cyanobacteria (also known as "blue-green algae.") But it's _not_ algae at all -- it's a unique bacteria. It will go absolutely crazy if you don't take it out. Use a turkey baster to suck out all that you can by hand. Do a large water change.

Here's a photo of what happens when it spreads out of control...
