Quiet good looking canister filter

I have used Fluval canister filters in the past.  They are not "modern" looking but if you keep them clean they look ok....I used automotive interior detailer to keep them black.  As far as noise, 30 years of guitar playing and too much loud music has taken its toll on my ears....so they were quiet to me.

Why are you adding a canister filter?  2 large sponges should be enough.  Just curious.

Just because I want that extra filtration I have considered getting one rated for something like a 29 since it already had a descent amount of filtration

I would get one rated for the 55 for the extra flow...if you want that.  Also, you may decide to eliminate one or both of the sponge filters in the future.  However, that's just me.

Yeah that would be my hope to eliminate both because one would probably make it look lopsided lol

I have 2 Fluval 207s running. Seems to be relatively low noise levels to me. I also don't mind the looks. One is hidden in the cabinet under the stand. The other didn't fit in my homemade stand for various reasons, so it is tucked next to it. No one has complained ok the looks. My 1 year old will sometimes notice it and go "exploring", so we'll have to pull him away from messing around with it occasionally.

DIY..?

you could always make what you want.  Or modify what you have.
A can on spray paint and a roll of masking tape.  You could paint the filter and hoses.
What kind of stand are you using that you can’t hide the filter?

Good Luck

Decorative canisters I’ve never heard of those could you link one

I think that you misread my post.

A canister filter could be put inside of a large flower pot, a woven basket, an inlaid wood box, a pvc sewer pipe with marble patterned plastic wrap, or a lot of other things imaginable.

But, there are these:
