Plants in plastic baskets

How long can most plants remain in the plastic basket with the rock wool if I continue to use fertilizer root tabs and liquid fertilizer as well?

If you got a light on them you could make that your permanent setup for them. The plastic cups and rock wool aren’t a huge detriment.
