SomePig
Has anyone set up a quarantine tank in their cabinet before? Are the insides of these standard pine (75g) stands stable enough for 10g of water? Interested in thoughts before I add water. ✌🏼
OceanTruth
I’m not familiar with these stands, but if there is at least one joist underneath, I personally wouldn’t hesitate putting a 10 gallon tank on it.
Jimbo
Did you end up running the tank under the cabinet? How did it work out? I'm building a cabinet and thinking of doing the same.
Minanora
I think it's a decent idea so long as you don't have an issue with condensation inside the cabinet. I'd be worried about swamping out the cabinet and damaging the wood/structure. Maybe put some desiccant down there or some damp-rid to keep it from going musty. Even with an open back, the heat, bubbles, volume of water could get swampy without some form of desiccant.
SomePig
Yep, added water and have had no issues at all in the several months that it has been full. There is a tight fitting top so no condensation worries either. I recommend!
