FrozenFins
I planted the monte carlo in my 5 gallon to see if it would carpet without co2. Its been a few months and nothing yet. Now time to try something esle. I need help on choosing what kind of plants to put in here. It houses one betta named Hugo. Floating plants are illegal where I live.
Garren
You can try some dwarf chain sword. It sends out runners and is working on carpeting one of my tanks.

Rocko Buffone
Oh also if you have the room try growing some red dwarf lily that would look great and grow out of your tank so your betta kind of has floating plants
Betsy
I've really been enjoying my lesser creeping rush...it's very grassy!
Jungle Fan
The easiest in my experience are dwarf hairgrass, and Staurogyne repens, micro swords seem to give a lot of beginners with carpet plants problems with algae. I personally like the S. repens, although it needs to be trimmed every once in a while when you plant it as a carpet.
