Fish Folk
It may be a Mozambique Tilapia, introduced to Martinique for aquaculture, but escaped into waterways. Here is a list of freshwater species documented in Martinique: https://fish.mongabay.com/data/Martinique.htm See screenshot attached. See . . . Cichlidae > Oreochromis mossambicus Fishbase.se provides this information page: https://www.fishbase.se/summary/Oreochromis-mossambicus.html Under "Photos" you can find the attached photos. The central photo, from Belgium, shows a pair -- note that the male is large, and dark compared to the much lighter female. I suppose it's _possible_ that this is a hybridizing cichlid situation. But this seems to be a possible clue. Catch one, and post a photo! Edited February 18, 2021 by Fish Folk
