Leo2o915
Just ordered it from Aquariumcoop with another of the easy planter where should I put it towards the front or back ? How is it with taking nutrients from the water column ? Or is it better to use root tabs on the rock wool ?
FrozenFins
In my opinion Valisenaria looks better as a background plant, but it really doesn't matter so do whatever you like. The Valisenaria is a root feeder, so they will benefit from root tabs. Edited February 18, 2021 by James Black
Brian
I agree with James, that is to say do what you like. But it does look amazing along the back wall of any aquarium. With proper care and fish it will fill in your aquarium. I have found those long flowing leaves are irresistible to a lot of fish. good luck
gardenman
Val might not be the best plant for an Easy Planter. Val spreads by runners. The Easy Planter could trap those runners and prevent them from getting established.
Jimycle
I started with 1 plant now i have 6 from that one 30 days later. It wanted to start propagating towards the front so I gently redirected one of the runners towards the back now it is growing along the back wall of my 55 gallon. I planted directly into the gravel which is about two-and-a-half 3 in deep and then added a root tab
CT_
My order came with two stems (don't know if thats typical) I was anticipating one so I put one over the root tab I had placed and another one about 6" away. The root tab one a week later has shot out two runners while the other one is just hanging out growing but not as fast.
