FlyingFishKeeper
Hello everyone, so I was recently writing about fishkeeping and and needed to write the name of the parasite that causes Ich "Ichthyophthirius multifiliis" and struggled to pronounce that or read it, so out of curiosity how many people can say "Ichthyophthirius multifiliis" and not have to practice saying it using tongue twisters as a warm up? Siett88
No wonder it's just called ich, by the time you get done saying the Latin name, it might be too late to treat!

Odd Duck
Ik-thee-off-theer’-ee-us (the “ophth” part is pronounced like ophthalmologist) mull-tee-fill’-us “ichthyo” pertains to fish, “phtheir” pertains to louse, so roughly = fish louse ”multi” obviously many, filius means children = many children
