Chewyrat77
I have one bristlenose pleco in my main tank that was in with fish that have never been quarantined. I sold all those fish and now have a QT tank with mollies and a dwarf gourami. If I QT the bristlenose with the rest of these new fish how long should i wait or what should i do to the main tank before adding all the fish from QT into the main tank? The only thing I suspect the bristlenose has is internal parasites.
Struggle
I would go ahead and treat the main tank as well just to be on the safe side.
Chewyrat77
Ok. I might do that. Ouch on the wallet, it's a 125g. Your probably right though I was just trying to avoid that.

Would you just treat the main tank for the suspected internal parasites or do a round of erythromycin too?
Struggle
I would treat for the internal parasite and a secondary infection. If you suspect the parasite to be worms I'd do a couple of rounds of meds with two weeks in between each dosing.

I'm going to put the bristlenose in with the new fish once I start the med trio
Struggle
If you're going to relocate the bristle nose to the QT tank and depending on what kind of internal parasite you have, you could wait out the life cycle of the parasite without a host. In order to do that you would need to know what parasite(s) the bristle nose has. Typically, a few weeks without a host fish the parasite will die.
