Algae Identification

Recommended Posts

If im not mistaken, it appears to be staghorn algae. From the picture it looks like you may also have the beginnings of some black beard algae forming as well. You can treat it with some 3% hydrogen peroxide, or Seachem flourish excel. Here is a link that will better help you understand the root causes of your algae problem, as treatment will get rid of it short term, but a little knowledge and preventative measures is cheaper and goes a long way. I keep this website book marked as it is a great resource that i return to quite often. https://www.2hraquarist.com/blogs/algae-control
