Snails

What would be the best kind of snails to keep in a planted tank?

I have only kept accidental hitchhikers: Ramshorn snails, and bladder snails. The orange Ramshorn snails are cool and flashy, but I love the humble bladder snails the most. They just look so natural on my wood, and don’t overshadow the fish and shrimp.

I love ramshorn snails, they breed lots if you are not careful but you can buy them in lots of nice colours like I have a leopard blue one and that looks pretty cool. They eat any algae too so my tanks are spotless. Just don’t overfeed as they know it’s a sign to reproduce!

I just have a bladder snail that hitched a ride on one of my plants, but I'd love to add different kinds. I've read Nerite snails are a great choice because they're a nice cleanup crew, are beautiful and need saltwater to reproduce so they won't overrun your tank.

I love my assassins, they look amazing and keep bladder snails under control. Of course you can't add any other type of snail to the tank.

I personally like nerite snails to help with algae that may grow on plants.  Olive nerites in my own experience do the best, however other types of nerites are a lot prettier.

in a tank with no pest snails, i like nerites. if there are pest snails, then that tank gets assassins.
