Neil
Hi, I had aquariums for a long time but just started a planted aquarium. Got my first order from Aquarium Co-Op yesterday and received some beautiful plants. I planted some plants in mid November and added root tabs and some Easy Green that I got yesterday. Today I see a little bit of algae. Did I over fertilize? Would the root tabs and easy green work that fast. I know this is all trial and error like when I was breeding angelfish. Any recommendations would be appreciated. Thank You
lefty o
welcome. you'll find now that you have added plants, and are adding fertalizer you will have to find the balance between light and fertalizer. with too much of either one, you will get algae. for me, i would rather half dose ferts twice a week vs a full dose once a week. i prefer to sneak up on things instead of going full bore and having to fight my way back. use a little less light (less hours), and cut the dose, and play with it over time to see what works best in your aquarium.
