What did you get done today?

Didn't do a good enough job rinsing 25kg of gravel for my new 240L Oscar tank so went in with a gravel vac and removed a lot of the filth/dust that comes with new gravel. Still a new ish tank and not got a lot of "SEASONED TANK TIME" so will do sponges from the large internal Eheim filter in another few days, im guessing a lot of dust has gotten on there. Also put a zizz bubbler filter on the tank. The Oscar is really enjoying checking it out.

Plus some water changes on my other two (much smaller) tanks.

Received a handful of Limia perugia, Boca de Cachon and some long awaited Longfin Green Dragons. I am really looking forward to watching these guys grow.

My son is the catfish fan in the family and he has a couple of these in his tank.  We're hoping we have a pair, but it'll be a while before we know.  In the meantime, I've fallen in love with them.  They're cute and gorgeous all at the same time.   Here's hoping for babies sometime next year!

Spent the evening setting up a quarantine tank and then working on the plague of algae in my 40 gallon.  At this point I think I'm ready to leave the lights off during the day and just turning them on for a few hours in the evening.   The tank is not in front of a window but we have large windows all over the place and I think it's getting too much natural light.  It's the only tank with a problem and a problem it is.  Lots of long green hair algae!

I got my Aquarium Co-op brine shrimp eggs, and hatchery up and running today! Really excited to see if this increases my breeding colony of Emperor tetras.

Sounds good!  I've thought about dabbling with live brine, but not sure I can manage.  It scares me, I guess.

I wrote down “start brine shrimp” on my weekend to-do list hoping that would give me the forward momentum I needed... we will see.

Cool terrarium! And if a spider can be cute, this one definitely is.

I had a surprise Sunday delivery of substrate, so I finished putting it in the 55 gallon. I also planted all the stuff I had on hand, but I am waiting on some nana petite and some micro sword from the Co-Op to complete it.

Just waiting for it to cycle now, so I can get my first rainbow fish.
