See?  Is stuff like that, that makes me concerned about my chiller, which I've not cleaned in 4 years.  Temps are stable, so what could be wrong, right?  😬

Mine is a closed loop, with no waste in there, and I've never even added any new water, so I realize it is different.  But it still makes me worry.  I mean my tankless water heater for the house needs cleaning every so often...  🤔

Ahhh, no, no, no... I put a lot of organic waste through mine, and I mean a lot! The clear tubing was brown in both directions!

Also, a home water heater has mineral deposits from new water going through. If your chiller is still in the original fill, I am not sure you have a reason to worry. Do the lines look clear?

Did the usual saturday water changes which include the 29,29 and 120. The 120 was a bit of a pia as during the summer I do a 'double water change' (which basically means i change 60 gallons instead of 30 which require that i fill the pail twice and drain it twice. I also cleaned the fx6 which is a pia and took 30 minutes on its own. Was a bit surprise how dirty it was given that i use a prefilter that is cleaned twice a week.

Anyway picture of the black 29 which is seeing a lot of plant growth. This ignores the huge amount of hornworth i threw away during the water change. The italia val suddenly sprouted next to the matten filter. It had been completely dormant since i used furan 2 4 months ago; but at the current rate of growth it'll reach the top of the tank in 7 to 14 days it also sent out 4 or 5 runners which i pulled. The tank looks a bit dirty so i'll have to work on that next week. I should mention one of the reason i post these pictures is it gives me a chance to 'see' things i missed just looking at the aquarium. That aponogeton is a monster. It is not a new plant - as i've had it for some 30 weeks; but the size of the leaves keep increasing. Anyway just remember this is a low tech tank so i think the plant growth is pretty decent even if you disagree:

This forum inspired me to start with some breeding projects. So today I went to MLF store and got me some supplies (brine Shrimp hatchery and a sponge filter). Still deciding on what the first project will be. I have some Dwarf gouramis and a couple of Gudgeon peacocks, probably one of these 2.

I went to a (not so) local store yesterday and chose a flowerhorn - they had four, and I picked the one who was trying to murder me through the glass! He's since been named Nanaue, after the shark demigod in the DC universe. Cause I'm a nerd.

He's in a bare tank for now, while I search for some soft/light decorations that he can't hurt himself on.

Fell victim to a box store's half off sale.  I am now the proud owner of yet another 10 gallon.  This one will likely need to go in the home office.  I'm thinking either sparkling gourami, galaxy raspboras, a combination of the two, or something entirely different.  I also considered some shell dwellers just to experience them.  Thoughts?

I love the name! But then again, we are also nerds with an entire Wonder Woman themed Themyscira tank, so of course I love the name!

I love my galaxy rasbora/celestial pearl danio. They are so incredibly fun. I watch them for hours…you may not get much work done 😁

Today was just light maintenance and feeding - I'm seeing lots of round bellies tonight!

I'm amazed at how brave my new marine betta is. They're usually incredibly shy fish - hiding for months in new tanks. This guy has only been in this tank since Saturday and is letting me set up cameras and tong-feed him. Pretty wild!

I'm taking name suggestions, if anyone has ideas!

I fed blackworms to everyone today 16330574201601674313749999305304.jpg.bac0e8940563762092db051c8cc7a96d.jpg

As you can see, very full bellies on everyone.

Everyone is now in a food coma, lol.

I wish I could find live blackworms here! The only store that I've ever seen sell them shut down very early in the pandemic. I've considered getting some off aquabid, but haven't pulled the trigger yet. One day!

Put together an inexpensive stand for my new zoom meeting backdrop.  It will slowly come together over the next few months.  I think my choices are this point are Endlers, multis or similis, or longfin white clouds.  Either way, I'm thinking of the possibility of breeding, so part of my decision will be if any lfs near me is willing to buy.  If they say they'd buy white clouds, I pick white clouds.  Same with endlers or multis.  White Clouds are in the lead for now anyway, just because they will be cheaper without the heater.  On the other hand, shell dwellers would save money on not planting the tank.  So many options, so few gallons.

I believe that Carolina (can't remember 2nd half of the name) sells blackworms, and I know that they see amphopods.

I love life foods that can replicate in the tank.🥰

Winterized my tub pond and put it in the shop. I still need to make a lid for it. Only getting down to 60 at night so far, but October is coming...

Seeing that tub feels like shaking a Christmas present, trying to figure it out. 🙂 What's in there?
