What did you get done today?

I got my 180 gallon freshwater community/Geophagus tank set up. The tank was aquascaped Wednesday night and I put everyone in this morning. I've been cycling it with my Geophagus "surinamensis" (in quotes because these supposedly aren't available in the trade). Here's a video from my post on Reddit.

You'll notice the planters and sponge filters come are from aquariumcoop.com. The plants all came from there too.

55 gal discus tank - added new discus yesterday, and some new plants. Carefully thawed frozen blood worms and spirulina brine shrimp, and watched each fish feed. Topped off water. Added root tabs to swords and Valisneria.

40 gal breeder tank - changed out 16 oz of water from each Electric Blue Acara fry hang-in container and replaced with 16 oz bottles from R. O. sourced water. Fed older EBA fry newly hatched Co-Op BBS diluted in tank water to decrease salinity / conductivity for fry. Fed other now free-swimming EBA fry 10 ml. of vinegar eels culture diluted in 8 oz. tank water with ca. 1 tsp sodium bicarbonate to counteract acidity. Also fed main tank with mix of thawed out frozen blood worms and frozen spirulina brine shrimp. Water still stained from malachite green despite several large water changes, however, fungal infections completely remediated.

20 gal. long Xenotoca Doadrioi (Goodeid) C.A.R.E.S. colony tank - performed 40% water change with cool water. Fed a “meaty” diet today of thawed out frozen daphnia, and live Co-Op BBS. (typically feed heavy on greens)

20 gal. long and 10 gal Fundulopanchax Scheeli (killifish) colony and breeding tanks - 50% water changes on both. Careful not to allow lids off because they’re jumpers!

20 gal. tall Okefenokee Pygmy Sunfish tank with fry - Carefully fed live Co-Op BBS, and mix of vinegar eels + Sera micron.

Stocked my summer tubs - whiteclouds in my largest, Endlers and Medaka Platinum rice fish in 2 outside. I think the 3rd I’ll put shrimp in or honey gouramis. Haven’t decided. Tried to catch some cherry barbs last night in my heavily planted 45 g high and needless to say they know every hard place to reach fish and hung on for dear life down there! Also had a date day with my wife in the Deschutes National Forest and saw some really cool frogs 🐸!

@Patrick_Gthese are what my wife found acceptable for our home so I went with it. Personally I wanted a 50 or 110 g stock tub and some muck buckets but she wasn’t having it. Do you have any opinion on shrimp (blue dreams) vs honey gouramis in the last tub? The gouramis are shrimp eaters so I never put them together. Was thinking 3 boys and 5 girls on the shrimps. I have a proven pair of honey gourami.

I have a 300 gallon Rubbermaid that I had emptied last year but I left it out over winter where it had filled with rain water, leaves, ect

Today I found out that it is packed full of daphnia, and my fish love it:

And my female Clarkii Clownfish was being really aggressive, so I thought I'd distract her with the camera for a few minutes:

I worked on my tubs/mini ponds this morning finished stocking with blue dreams added to the ricefish pond and sunset honey gouramis in the last one.
If I was to do it over again I’d just stock yellow/gold white clouds in one of my outdoor - they are so easy to see in comparison to my longfin regular WCs.
I did water changes on 4 tanks - the two 20 gallon longs my sons have (also did some scaping of the pseudomeugil luminatus tank), and my future shrimp tank/bowls.

Moved “eyed-up” killifish eggs into cycled 1-gal. jug for hatching. Floated 1x Rooibos tea bag to add tannins.

Moved line dwarf Gourami fry from breeding tank to Gourami tank, as she is old enough to forage and survive with adults.

Decided to reset Gourami breeding tank for breeding German blue Rams. Bought a young male (ca. 2-months away from proper breeding size).

Added a school of 17x Phoenix Rasboras for composure, interest, dither, etc. They’re still too you g to display markings or color.

At bottom is photo of the female GBR ready when the young male is. She’s probably some sort of mixed color strain. That’s fine with me. Fry born and raised in our own water will look beautiful no matter what.
