Griznatch
My youngest and I built a gazebo(?) for my tub pond and some flower pots on back porch today. The challenge was to only use scrap lumber.. The lattice was store bought however... I'll update when I get water, plants and fish to the tub. We started at around 8:00 AM, I think we finished around 2:00 and it was already past 90 deg out. Pretty proud of him, he built 90 percent of this. I just gave him guidance and made sure he didn't cut off any digits 🙂
H.K.Luterman
Today I made a heater guard out of some black plastic tank divider stuff I had laying around, held together with zipties, since my catfish has a habit of jamming herself against the heater and getting burned. Then I switched out most of my airline tubing to the Co-Op's black stuff, since it goes well with my backgrounds. DSH OUTDOORS
Officially started my "fish room". Which means consolidating my tanks to one corner of the basement family room. 12' X 13' when all said and done. First tank to get set up with new residents is the 50 Low Boy with my multis. I think they are liking the new set up. Anyone want to come help move the 150 gallon? It only has to go 10 feet... 😂😭 5

Chris
Got a manicure from my cleaner shrimp today! Excuse the terrible audio - this video is actually B-roll for a future video, so I didn't see too much point in looking for the right piece of music to fit over it.
Streetwise
I think that I got a chipmunk out of my apartment. I don’t know if it came in on its own, or if my cat brought it in to play, and then took a nap. The chipmunk chirp is almost identical to the low-battery sound for smoke alarms, so I pulled a few batteries before I figured it out! 2

gogomarigo
Cleaned up the duckweed in my 10 gallon. They mostly stay in the airline tube rings but sometimes the shrimp or fish will knock some out. I just put them back in using a little hair pick 🙂 May seem tedious to some but I feel like it’s worth doing to prevent an overgrown mess of duckweed. I love how the roots look from underneath tho, especially when they’re in a thick bunch in the rings—that’s mostly why I got duckweed despite hearing horror stories😂

My eggs hatched, it wasn't something I did today because they were gonna hatch without me but still feels like an accomplishment and there's a lot more than I expected. Minus actual kids I think I've contributed to at least 500 fishy lives into this world. It's weird when I think about it, me helping to create life 2

Tanked
I found it! I've been searching for the floating side of my new Mag-Float for 3 weeks. It was during one of these searches that I knocked the jar of test strips onto the floor for the second time.. Most of my supplies are in nested boxes. Today, I finally noticed the magnet attached to the underside of the box that I was holding in my hand.

Beardedbillygoat1975
I hatched out baby brine for the very first time! Woot! Well received by all my tanks but I was stoked to see my newly hatched Japanese ricefish ( silver and black lame) taking the bbs! I checked on my tubs/ponds and lost some Endlers due to the heat, bummer. However, my honey gourami pair are loving it and as that the start of a bubblenest? I hope so! My new fireball teacup platys had Ich when I checked last night so I threw in some med trio and salt and raised the temp - bam no more ich! I think I’ll do 2 rounds of meds on them. Water changed my 45 g display and planted some wendtii green crypts as my ancistrus ate all my dwarf sag I had carpeting it. My bedside bowl is coming along and maturing nicely and I planted some Microswords. Why hadn’t I used that plant before? and I watched @Ryo Watanabelatest video and im so inspired by this paludarium! Aspirational! 1
gogomarigo
Moved my porch pond into full shade and removed some duckweed. I was letting it grow to provide some shade when the pond was in half sunshine, half shade but now that it’s in full shade, I think surface area for gas exchange is more important. It’s supposed to be 102 on Sunday and 108 on Monday. I hope my medaka survive😩 There are also hitchhiker snails (which I’m sure the bladder snails at least will survive because they seem to be bulletproof lol) and blue neo shrimp culls (which I’m guessing will be goners?) These are 17 gallon totes so not very big for handling shifts in temp and I got black because I’m in Seattle and it’s mild/chilly most of the year. I don’t have an extra air stone or air pump so in addition to the high temps, I’m also concerned about dissolved oxygen. I do have some water sprite, Japanese dwarf pennywort, and hornwort in addition to the floating plants (and some lily bulbs that are still settling in). 1
