The Epsom salt will add some additional minerals, I have done this in the past but don't anymore. I find the baking soda helps to keep the pH up and more stable.

How many pellets, I'm assuming they are pellets.  I'm working my way though API salt I obtained in aquarium lots I have bought over the years, but I like the bulk pricing.
