Craziiininja
Can you grow most plants in hard water or is soft water much better for plants?
Rita
I have very hard water... and so far in my tank I have a lot of pogostemon stellatus octopus, cryptocoryne wendetii red, java fern, java fern windelov, dwarf sagittaria, dwarf aquarium lily and micro sword. So far the plants are doing well and growing fast. The only one I’m not too sure about is the dwarf sagittaria... but I’ve already trimmed and replanted a bunch of pogostemon. Some plants were melting a bit and showing some signs of nitrate deficiency so I’ve started dosing easy green twice a week and am planning on adding some root tabs to my eco complete soon since I’ve had it for a couple months. So I guess the moral of my story is any issues I’m having I wouldn’t attribute to having hard water! But that’s just my humble opinion of course. Craziiininja
Ok i have soft water with 8.2 ph so i wanted to raise my hardness to keep rainbows and guppies just wanted to see if hardening the water would hurt my plants
NanoFishTanks
I think some plants prefer softer water. What are the plants you are trying and what is your ph?
