Ideas for my 55 gallon

I am looking to add some more fish to my 55 gallon. Right now it has 20 neon tetras, a pearl gourami, a bristle nose pleco, and a bunch of cories. I am looking for something else to add, maybe another schooling fish but am open to anything.

I would get 2 more gouramis. Make sure its a 1 male for every two female ratio if you choose to get another few.

Silvertip Tetras are very cool and a great schooling fish.

I agree with more gouramis, they are an incredible fish.

I'll make it 3 votes for more pearl gouramis.  I have 8 in my 40 gallon breeder (2M, 6F) and really enjoy watching them.  Though they aren't shoaling fish, like tetras, corys, etc, they are social and will interact with each other.

If you want another species along with them then lemon tetras and serpae tetras are some of my favorites.  The serpaes look especially nice in a planted tank.  I'd suggest at least 8 of either one.

harlequin rasboras. act much like neons, but totally different color schemes.

I would add more neon tetras. One huge school of small fish is fun to watch.

These are all very good suggestions (More tetras, rainbows, rasboras, etc). If I may add, I would think out looking at some swordtails, they can add a variety to the tank and they do not get very big. I guess it all depends on if you want small fish to add or something of size. GL too many good choices out there to decide.

I have 10 black neon tetras.  They stick together and are very hardy.
