Creedmoor Aquatics Posted Friday at 08:56 PM Posted Friday at 08:56 PM I've been keeping Blue Tuxedo Platies this year, and would be really interested in trying to breed in some yellow fin genetics to produce a Yellow Finned Blue Tuxedo platy, but honestly know very little about Platy genetics specifically. I'm aware of the Red Tailed Blue Tuxedo Platies, which are similar to what I'm looking for, which lead me to believe there are some Platy genes which code for a different color tail. What I don't know is if I crossed say, a Sunset Platy with a Blue Tuxedo, would I get some blue babies with yellow fins, or would one epitype dominate the other, or would I get some mutt platy that doesn't look anything like the parents. Any tips or resources would be appreciated! In a perfect world I'd be able to copy the look of the Mustard Gas Betta, though I know we are lightyears away from that 3
Fish Folk Posted Saturday at 03:10 AM Posted Saturday at 03:10 AM Check out these variatus from Goliad Farms. Heading in the direction you like… but not your standard Platys.
