Ramshorn congregating to the top of my green water tank

I added a second air stone to the green water tank I've got going with ramshorn in there. It's 10 gallons, and one air stone is hooked up to the co op sponge filter, the other I just dropped in last night after noticing the behavior. They're still mostly around the top today. After feeding the tank with some sinking pellets, a number of them have gone down, but still some remain right at the water level and stay very still.

Snails will often do this as the water evaporates - they will eat the minerals left behind on the glass so maybe that's what they're up to.
