I recently found that my 55 gallon had a cycle crash after I changed the substrate. I’m going to transfer two sponge filters from and established tank to it when I get home. I was wondering if Api quick start works at all since I don’t have access to Fritz turbo start or zyme 7? I know it would be more of a bandaid but I need to keep the ammonia down. Also I left a bottle of prime in a car for a day by accident and I was wondering if that would cause it to not neutralize ammonia? Also how long does prime neutralize ammonia?

Do you actually have ammonia? With cycled sponge filters going in, just take a few days off feeding and it should catch back up.

your prime should be fine.

2 days according to label. redose after 48 hours. As far as the heat, who knows. and there isn't a good way to tell. It will still test positive for ammonia and nitrites even if detoxified

as much as i think bottled bacteria works, and is a good thing for a new tank, putting in established sponge filters will do everything the bottled stuff does, and more.
