Jack1235
Do you guys recommend scarlet badis and clown killifish in 2.5 gallon fish tank
Chris
Definitely on the small size for either. I wouldn't recommend both. A tank that size would make a great shrimp tank, or a group of Thai micro crabs would be cool too. If you're set on a fish, I would probably recommend a single scarlet badis, or potentially a single male pygmy sunfish.
EricksonAquatics
I would definitely upgrade to at least a 5g for that setup. 2.5g isn’t good for much else besides shrimp. But it would make an excellent shrimp tank! 2
Whitecloud09
A great size for a shrimp tank.... anything else it is very tough, personally, i would get a 5 or even 10g aquarium for a scarlet badis. Add lots of good plants, and driftwood, and you got yourself a great shrimp tank! AGree with everyone else @Jack1235.
Jack1235
Can you have a betta fish in a 2.5 gallon tank
EricksonAquatics
Technically yes. Will they be thriving? Not exactly. A 5g is really not that much bigger and gives them a much better quality of life in my opinion.
Whitecloud09
Possible. But I do not recommend it. 5g like @EricksonAquatics said, is much better if possible.
JS Fish
I have a 2.5 gallon tank currently. I used to keep a dwarf mexican crawfish, and curently keep a bumble bee goby in it. I believe both are great options that do well in a 2.5. Also, ofcourse, there are always snails and shrimp to!

Now he has a goby. I’ve seen his journal, before.
