Tissue culture stems in a tall, low-tech tank

Recommended Posts

I impulse purchased a tissue culture cup of Hedyotis salzmanii because it was the last one in my LFS and I'd never heard of it and couldn't resist it. It was only after I got home that I realized that I didn't really have a good place to plant it.

Now I do have a pretty good patch of substrate in the back of my no-injected-CO2 55 gallon, but the substrate is probably 15-17 inches from the light and these tissue culture plantlets are only an inch tall themselves.

If I put them in, am I just dooming them? Or will they just grow up yo meet the light? Is there a better way?
