Lennie
I wanted to get myself a blue pair too but @anewbie told me about blue genes on angelfish before and sent the link below. https://angelsplus.com/pages/angelfish-genetics "Blue(b) This recessive mutation is a relatively new one that most likely arose in Thailand. When homozygous, it increases iridescence in all strains and it greatly inhibits the storage of carotenoid pigments in those that are normally orange or gold in color. For example, Golds become white. With strains like Wild-type, since there is no orange to remove, it simply adds iridescence to the adults. Iridescence in the juveniles is very subtle and increases as the fish ages. It also appears to be somewhat deleterious, causing lower fertility, weaker, smaller fry and more deformities to occur in many spawns. Our opinion of this gene is somewhat tainted." anewbie
Many names are a bit arbitrary; there might be a difference but the magnitude of the difference is always questionable; there are also many other genes that impact the overall look of the angel so personally i'd just go with what you find attractive and try to walk away from fancy names. Also sometime prices of fish are due to commonality or difficulty in getting a particular set of genes this doens't mean you will particularly like the fish or find it appealing. Remember all these fishes are more or less man made by selective breeding and as such will suffer from the various issues induced by selective breeding including (usually) shorten life spans.
