FishyGirl
As you may have heard my filter broke down a couple weeks ago, and I lost 3 of my acaras. After the paint decor killed my fish I removed it all and added new decor. I’ve had a sponge filter for a couple weeks now and my canister filter has been fixed since Tuesday and everything’s back to normal. My levels are ph 6.6 Nitrate- 10 Nitrite-0 Amonia 0 Temp- 78.2 Do you think I’m safe to add new fish either today or tomorrow or should you wait? PineSong
It sounds like you've been through the wringer and are doing a lot to get back on track. Is that pH of 6.6 typical for your tank even before the upheavals caused by the broken filter and problem decor? Since your tank has been through a lot in a short amount of time, I would doubly recommend quarantining any new fish in a quarantine tank before adding them, so you don't get into a situation where you have to put meds in the tank that will hurt or kill your cycle.
