Pepere
Saturday mornings are my water change day for my aquariums… And the first Saturday of the month, I also clean the canister filters… and clean the glass lily pipe intake with skimmer. I happened to watch the clock before and after.. 10 minutes from the time I shut off flow with the valves until the time I was re establishing a siphon after servicing the Fluval 207 filters. sponges squeezed out, polishing pad replaced, nylon scrubbies swished out, canister rinsed out, purigen replaced, filter floss filling gaps from potscrubbers to cut down on bypass, impeller cleaned, o rings cleaned and relubed… granted if I waited 6 months between servicing it might take significantly more time and be more onerous… But 10 minutes..minimal muss and fuss.. Milliardo Peacecraft
I would say it probably takes me about 10-15 minutes to clean out my fluval 306. My biggest complaint with cleanimg out the 306 is how they designed the "handles" on the side of it. They are quite sharp and really dig into your hands as you carry it to the basement to clean it.
Guppysnail
10 minutes if that. I love the fluval 07 series. I run 9 of them. I take a bucket of dechlor water to the tank pop, squeeze everything and back together it goes. All 9 of my 07 filters can be done in under 2 hours. I have never done them all without stopping though….I’m old knee and back rest breaks are a must 🤣
mynameisnobody
My fx6 takes roughly 20 mins, maybe less. It’s a workhorse and my favorite filter by far.
_Eric_
10 minutes for my Fluval 207. I always scratch my head when I see maintenance as a negative for canister filters. Maybe an FX 6 that you clean twice a year. Sponge filters are more of a pain for me as I can never get in the bag before the detritus cloud escapes 😆

I decided the tank looked better without the prefilter on, and given that I am fine cleaning the canister monthly I could forgo the prefilter…. never looked back…
