Mychala
I treated with 3% hydrogen peroxide on Sunday for algae and my vals are looking rough. This isn't the first time I've used H202 but I usually just use it as a spot treatment. I followed Irene's instructions on 1 tablespoon per 10 gallons and let sit with lights off and filters off for an hour. Is it the peroxide or a deficiency? Tanked
I have the same question about Hornwort as well. I put a clump of Hornwort in my Barb tank and it seemed to be doing well Two days after a peroxide treatment, the plant was naked except for a single tuft at the top. The Hornwort in my planted tank (also treated) is also suffering, but the newly planted Italian Val has only lost three of it's original leaves, and is putting out runners. Pete
Yes, Val is sensitive, but also recovers well. Trim or pinch off the melted parts and be patient with it. You'll have happy leaves in not time. 1
Mychala
@Pete thanks! It grows like a weed anyway, probably won't hurt to slow it down a minute😂🤦♀️
