Bacter AE questions

I recently bought bacter AE to test as i have seen it used in many youtubers. Sure i have a shrimp tank where i plan to use it.

But I have a community tank with otocinclus and amano shrimp. And a tank with sewellia. Will those also benefit from a small dose of bacter?

How small is good enough to show any difference but not too large to make issues. Thanks

I can’t really speak to different fish benefiting other than pleco babies. I used a bit less than 1/4 dose (less than 1/4 of the little scooper I. A 20 long) and they did not seem to eat it and all the plants started growing bacterial colonies the pleco babies through juvenile stage did not seem to eat it.

Note: My babies were always overfed so maybe they just were not hungry 🤪

I can’t speak to the hillstreams but otos and amanos will like it.  Use a very small dose.  This video @nabokovfan87 posted above is spot on.  I use about how much he is using (grain of rice size) in a 30 gal tank.  Note that pest snails also like it so be aware of you are trying to control a pest snail population

My tetras eat the bacter AE when it goes in.  I dilute it with tank water first, but when it goes in they can see it and gulp at it.

Yes, you have to way way underdose. The package is WRONG for dosing.  You'll end up with fouled water and an outbreak of detritus worms, etc if you go by the package.
