Andrea B
Hi! Can someone tell me if this is planaria? I have a video as well. They seem very large to me! Edited August 13 by Andrea B
Chick-In-Of-TheSea
That does not look like planaria. Planaria is white or pinkish white and has a triangular head. Camallanus maybe? Or blackworms? @modified lung @Biotope Biologist @Guppysnail Edited August 13 by Chick-In-Of-TheSea
Guppysnail
They look flat. Very possible for planaria. There are many different types. They can get large. They can regulate their body size depending on available food. Eat lots get big, go on diet get small. It’s a bit more than that but you get the idea. Can you upload your video to YouTube? Then post a share link here? Here is one of my dark ones in this video. This photo shows many types I took it from the website below very informative https://rsscience.com/planarian/ 1

Biotope Biologist
Looks like a vial full of leeches 1
Andrea B
Could it be leeches?
Biotope Biologist
Leeches have a suction cup foot and swim like an eel whereas most other aquatic worms swim like snakes. Don’t worry they are mostly harmless. They have a bad rep.

Andrea B
Will they eat cherry shrimp? How do I get rid of them?
Biotope Biologist
They may eat shrimplets if they can catch them, yes. Removal by hand is the only way. Anything that kills leeches kills shrimps and snails as well. They are mostly nocturnal so you may want to set a trap with some sort of sinking pellet and remove them that way? The leeches also make great fish food! Edited August 14 by Biotope Biologist

I wouldn't use fenbendazole in a shrimp or snail tank it's very toxic and it can leech from wood or rocks months later killing snails some debate as to how toxic it is with shrimp some saying as long as you use the appropriate dose they are fine I personally wouldn't risk Edited August 14 by Colu

Just a little piece is the best bait for traps I have ever used. I buy frozen so I only thaw one piece at a time and pinch 1/2-1/3 off.
