matts Posted November 12, 2020 Posted November 12, 2020 (edited) I have a pair of endlers and I am concerned about my water parameters. My ph is 7 gh is between 75 ppm and 140 ppm and KH is 75 ppm. I was wondering if I should raise my hardness or if it is ok as is. If I need to raise my hardness what would be the best way to do so. Edited November 12, 2020 by matts
Andrew Geiger Posted November 13, 2020 Posted November 13, 2020 I wouldn't chase ph, I cannot speak for endlers specifically, but all fish can adjust and live comfortably in a wide range of ph. Especially if you get them locally; they will be adapted to water similar to yours then. If you do want to raise your alkalinity you can add crushed coral to your filter or use as a substrate. It can also be hidden in media bags and buried under your desired substrate. I use this even with hard water out of the tap with all my live bearers and if I had African cichlid I would use with them.
