Pepere
I am so excited.. I bought 3 Pink Flamingo crypts from Aquarium Co op. 1 died, 1 has barely held on for months and months, but finally is showing hints of taking off. the Third has thrived and is an overwhelming size in my 20 High…. Tonight I noticed 2 daughter plants starting to take off. i am so excited by this. I tried to buy more from the Co op but they stopped carrying it… i just noticed tonight as lights were ramping down… photos tomorrow… 2
Pepere
This is my crypt that has been struggling to survive for oh so long. It finally is starting to show signs it might take off….I had removed a tiger lotus that was in front of it that might had been out competing it for root nutrients or allelochemicals from roots… That might be three inches across in the photo… compare and contrast with this. This crypt was planted in my 20 high the same day as the prior one in a 29 gallon. It is all of 12 inches in diameter and at least 8 inches tall. It is much bigger than I expected it to get. Honestly it seems overpowering for the tank size. In my mind it would go better in a 75 gallon tank. Someday hopefully… Closeup of a daughter plantlet in lower right front. Those smaller leaves forming a small rossette. and just behind that rock in the substrate is another small plantlet starting.. both are much easier to discern when you pull the main leaf structure back with a hand, but taking a photo with a tablet with one hand would be a trick…. 2

Pepere
I have it in a 20 high tank and it is elevated up on a terraced section so closer to the lights. I run a Finnex Planted plus ALC running fairly strong on the back half of the tank? And a finnex Stingray 2 on the front that is throttled down to 40% strength with a Nicrew inline timer. It runs from 4:00 to 8:00 AM and PM. I also have bags of Aquasoil near the root structure and run pressure CO2 and work to keep nitrates around 20 ppm.

I'm contemplating adding CO2 to my 20 long that my Pink Flamingo is in. You're convincing me.
Pepere
Easy low light plants respond well to co2 and even stronger lighting that CO2 enables….
