Jackson
I ran a 30 fluval on my 10g with no problems .. I don't feel the flow was to much for my mid swimmers .
MattyM
The Tidal 35 actually works pretty well on my 10 gal hospital tank. I use the sponge on the bottom, then poly fil, then the bio media it comes with. You can slow the flow on it and/or baffle it with a sponge or a pre-made baffle like this https://www.etsy.com/listing/769221604/the-original-aquarium-filter-baffles-3d

Bev C
@Jackson & @MattyM thank you I was worried the 30 gallon would take to much room .. in a 10 gallon I am not to worry on the flow I will be using a baffle on it to help prevent my small school of pigmy cories and shrimp from being tossed around i have been using a baffle for about a year now ,,, might have to buy another size baffle for 30 model mind fits a 20 might try the baffle i have already first
Galabar
Go for something that has the pump in the tank. This will guarantee restarts after power outages and doesn't require priming.
