Tfred82
So came home from work this morning and found 2 fry in my tank. I’m assuming they are mollies since they are the only live breeders I have and I have had them for about a month. I’m gonna let nature take its course, if they survive great, if not it’s the circle of life… My question is how many should I assume have been eaten since I can only find 2… how many babies is the average birth for a molly? PaigeIs
Congratulations! Mollies and Platys have the ability to birth up to 100 fry, so the answer to your question is ... quite a lot. Based on my experience of keeping both platy and mollies in community tanks, they appear to do a great job of managing population control, particularly if you let the fish become a little hungry. It's the circle of life.
