So came home from work this morning and found 2 fry in my tank. I’m assuming they are mollies since they are the only live breeders I have and I have had them for about a month. I’m gonna let nature take its course, if they survive great, if not it’s the circle of life… My question is how many should I assume have been eaten since I can only find 2… how many babies is the average birth for a molly?6C146E0F-404C-4DC3-84FA-4C4B8AD961D4.jpeg.8dfd063888ac92e113092ca7f3b9bfeb.jpeg59DB3F40-7823-4C60-BFEC-B85E61F0773A.jpeg.35109a53a50653d1aefedfaa240493a8.jpeg5E9035B0-D275-430D-BD20-E88382C51DFD.jpeg.7d2e1c6abaa5bca9bdfdf15e1db25fd7.jpeg

Congratulations! Mollies and Platys have the ability to birth up to 100 fry, so the answer to your question is ... quite a lot. Based on my experience of keeping both platy and mollies in community tanks, they appear to do a great job of managing population control, particularly if you let the fish become a little hungry.  It's the circle of life.
