BCohen
Hi, this is my first post. We have an oranda and a ryukin together in a 20 gallon tank. This is the first summer we will have them so far and we are planning to go away for a week. The temperature where we live can get into the upper 90s and we are concerned about keeping the temperature of the tank down while we are away. We don't want to run our central air while we are away. Any advice of the best way to keep the tank at a good temperature?
JettsPapa
Welcome to the forum. I'm not convinced they need to be kept cool. I keep goldfish in cattle troughs year-round to control algae and mosquito larvae. I'm in southeast Texas, where the temperature often reaches into the low 100's during the day, and doesn't get below 80 at night. However, to be on the safe side maybe you could keep the AC on, but set the thermostat up higher than usual? Edited June 12 by JettsPapa
