JeremyAllen
Hi all, my ph ranges from 7.4-7.6 with harder water (260ppm+) I do not have a way to purchase any apistogramma locally. That being said I would like to breed something new to me and was curious if any like borelli, agassizii, or any other variations could actually breed in harder water. FrostiesFishes
I would try cacatuoides or agassizi, those seem to be the easier species to spawn. But stay away from wilds.
Paul
@JeremyAllen You’ll find that tank raised Apistogramma are much more tolerant of higher pH and hardness.
Nate s
My ph is about 7.6-7.8 and I have two breeding pair of cacatuoides. Orange flash and platinum double red. Both spawned within a few weeks of ordering them. I got them from aquatic arts
anewbie
I think 280 is going to be a bit on the hard side. My tank tds is around 140 and i've only had marginal success with cockatoo eggs hatching. If you could mix it 2:1 with ro water to get the tds down to 90 or so that would help.
