ProtoDAda
Hello, I purchased a pack of tiny Amano Shrimps and I thought they all died. Few months later, they start popping up grown. Yay. One of them look like this. Is this Snowball shrimp? What kind of shrimp is this? Thank you and have a great day!

ProtoDAda
Not the one in the back… the one in the front without any dots on the body. : )
AnotherHumanPerson
Other than the lack of dots, it looks any other Amano to me. Maybe you just got one without them? 🤷
Patrick_G
I don’t think I’ve ever seen an Amano without the dots/stripes. Maybe it’s a different species but it could be just a genetic variant.

I would say it's a variety of Caridina, amanos are also a type of Caridina, but this one is not an amano. I would be interested to see how it changes over time and what colors pop up. Seeing small ---> bigger shrimp would be a big giveaway at what you're dealing with. Amanos don't have the large chunky eggs you're used to seeing with most Caridina / Neo shrimp.

TOtrees
All the pics I was able to find (in 60 seconds) of babaulti show a very long rostrum, the part of the shell/face that is above the eyes; it appears to extend about as far as the parts below the eyes (where the antennae emerge from). In amanos, the rostrum is shorter and extends just a bit forward of the eyes. So says the 60 second expert, LOL. So I vote pale amano, maybe even a leucistic variant.

I will try to catch a pic of one of mine in the tank, but in a 48 gal near 4 footer...finding one of four of them is near impossible. 🤣
