I'd definitely keep going the way you're going at the moment, the aquarium salt will take a while to work. With that being said, I'd also add some ammonia neutralizer to the tank to get the ammonia down as low as possible as quickly as possible.

Thanks! What product do you use to reduce ammonia? I am adding beneficial bacterial doses every day at the moment.

Prime.

I use prime as a water conditioner: 2 drops per gallon. Can I add more for ammonia reduction without harming fish? How much? My ammonia is .25.

You can dose up to 5x the recommended amount per Prime I believe and not harm anyone.
