attaching a sponge filter to a cannister filter

Recommended Posts

Pull the sponge off the cage. Slide a thin zip tie trough the bottom of the sponge and tighten just enough to pull the hole in the bottom closed. Then slide the sponge over the intake cage of the canister just like a prefilter sponge. I just helped a friend put one of the zoo meds together this way a few weeks ago.

When you mean cage, do you mean the container?

The green plastic part I call a cage.

I forgot I had a turtle clean 30 I was going to use for a project. The bottom of the intake cage is solid so you really don’t need the zip tie unless you want to use it. Hope these photos help.
