plantedtanks1052 Posted April 9 Share Posted April 9 Hi I've bought this cannister filter and i was planning to use it in a fish tank. currently i a sponge filter in the tank & i was thinking attach the filter to this. Guppysnail Posted April 9 Share Posted April 9 (edited) Pull the sponge off the cage. Slide a thin zip tie trough the bottom of the sponge and tighten just enough to pull the hole in the bottom closed. Then slide the sponge over the intake cage of the canister just like a prefilter sponge. I just helped a friend put one of the zoo meds together this way a few weeks ago. I forgot I had a turtle clean 30 I was going to use for a project. The bottom of the intake cage is solid so you really don’t need the zip tie unless you want to use it.
