Gold and normal WCM breeding together?

I was curious if I put normal white cloud minnows with the golden kind would they cross breed? What kind of white clouds would I get from them?

anyone have experience with this?

Golden is a recessive gene so you'll mainly get normal white cloud in the mix..some will carry the golden gene

If you begin with a Golden x Normal, you may end with 100% Normal WC, but actually all heterozygous for the color trait. Crossing these fry, then, should render 25% Golden — provided the traits follow Mendelian genetics.

Thanks for the answer I’ll probably just keep them separate then unless I have to downsize tanks.

That's correct in theory..for example "If" you have a 50/50 chance of getting golden..theres still a chance you may never see one. If you flip a coin 10 times will 5 times always be head and 5 always be tails?..not really 

So the lower the percentage your chances decrease alot
